2. Designing your website.

Content
The most important feature of your website is the content. At the end of the day the reason people want to come to your website is to see something, read something, or look at something. The more interesting your website the longer a visitor will stay for a while. If they like your site they may bookmark it and come back again, RESULT. If they really like it and think others will like it, they make put a link to your website from their website, DOUBLE RESULT. That mean you just got a one way link.

It is important to update your website often. When a spider visits, if it sees that nothing has changed then it will lengthen the time between visits. Updated content will also keep your visitors coming back for more.

The content should also be accurate, and interesting to keep visitors longer. Search engines will rank a site higher if the average visitor stays for 20 mins over a site where they stay on average 2 mins.

Title
Not many books have a title, so it makes sense that the pages of your website need a title. Search engines use the title to determine the nature of your website, and it is the text of the link used on the search engine website. This means your title should be clear, to the point, relevant, and short.

Using our earlier example the title may me along the lines of this.

Recipe World - Cooking tips and recipe resource.

As you can see this example has the target phrases you need and tells the search engine the nature of your site.
